Erkan Yıldırım

Born in 1968. Graduated Anadolu University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. Completed thoracic surgery residency at Siyami Ersek Thoracic-Cardiovascular Center (Istanbul) & Atatürk Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Center (Ankara). Specialist at Ankara Numune TRH in 2000, became Associate Prof. in 2007, Prof. in following years. Completed fellowships at Zurich (2002), Toronto (2004), Leuven (2008), Kyoto (2012). Lung transplantation fellowship at Toronto (2007–2008). Performed 85+ lung transplants and 100+ donor harvests. Holds patents in thoracic surgery. Published internationally with 37+ foreign and 19+ national papers.
